A Comparison of 0 % Balance Transfer Cards From Citi

0% Balance TransferMany credit cards offer special introductory rates to make their card appealing and gain customer loyalty. The concept of a balance transfer card seems pretty simple, but to find the best card for your needs you should consider comparing cards. At one time it was very easy to find 0% balance transfer cards, but that’s not really the case anymore so comparing cards is essential. At first you might think all you need to do is compare the rate and the length of time the rate is available, but there’s a little more to it. Always check to see what the balance transfer fee is for the card. Just about all cards have them and sometimes you have to search in the fine print to find it. Typically, the fee is a dollar amount or a percentage, which ever is greater ($5 or 3%). Knowing the fee will help you determine which card you go with. It is also helpful to know what kind of rate you are going to qualify for after the introductory period is over. This too can help you make your decision when trying to find the best card. Here is a look at 5 different Citi cards that offer 0% balance transfer deals. Each card works differently and they have different transfer fees too. All the cards listed require applicants to have good to excellent credit.

  1. The Citi® Platinum Select® MasterCard® offers 0% on balance transfer for 21 months. This is a great balance transfer offer, especially when you combine it with the offer of 0% on purchases for 21 months. One thing to keep in mine is the balance transfer fee which is 3%. After the introductory period the APR will be between 11.99% and 20.99% based on your creditworthiness. The card also offers no annual fee which makes the card even more attractive to those looking for a balance transfer card.

  2. The Citi Forward® Card offers a balance transfer of 0% for the first 12 months. This is not as great as the 18 month offers we just reviewed with the Select card, but maybe it will still fit your needs. For the first 7 months you will receive 0% on all your purchases. The variable rate after the introductory period is 12.99% to 21.99% based on your creditworthiness. The best feature of this card is its rewards points because you have several ways of earning ThankYou Points. There is a bonus offer with the card and the card does not charge an annual fee.
