Is a Chase Bank Bonus Worth it?

As nice as a bonus is, it's a one-time payment. In contrast, we usually stay with our banks for years, if not a lifetime. So should you choose Chase Bank in exchange for a couple of hundred bucks?

By itself, no. The bonus is a nice, well, bonus if you plan to bank with Chase anyway. For many, one bank is as good as another, and if Chase is convenient to where you work and live, banking at Chase makes sense.

That said, bonuses on checking accounts are generally a good deal. You won't make much in the way of interest, but most don't keep a lot of money in a checking account anyway.

In contrast, with savings accounts, your best bet is to go with a high-yield account.
