Chase United Mileage Plus® Select® Visa Card Review

The Chase United Mileage Plus® Select® Visa Card is designed for those that are frequent flies of United Airlines. The card allows you to earn more than triple miles on every United flight and the card offers bonus miles after your first purchase. You get rewarded for all of your purchases and also receive bonus miles each year for just being a cardmember. This card is for those with good to excellent credit. The card offers members the same benefits as the Visa Signature card and the card has an annual fee of $95 per year. Here is a summary of some of the benefits the Select card offers:

    • 30,000 miles is more than enough for a round-trip saver award ticket to anywhere in the continental United States.
    • To start receive 25,000 bonus miles after your very first purchase.
    • Receive an additional 5,000 bonus miles by adding an authorized user to your account.
    • New: Get a $50 statement credit after your very first purchase.
    • Pay No Annual Fee the first year. That’s a savings of $60.
    • Earn 1 mile for every $1 in purchases charged on your United Mileage Plus card.
    • There is no limit to the miles you can earn.

Rates and Offers
The card does not offer any special introductory rates or offers. The variable APR is 13,24% for both purchases and balance transfers. The APR for cash advances and overdraft advances is 19.24%. The penalty APR is 29.99% if it applies. The Penalty APR will apply to your account if you make a late payment, make a payment that ends up being returned, or exceed your credit line. All APR’s are subject to change based on changes to the prime rate.

Select Rewards Program
The card allows you to earn 3 miles for each $1 of net purchases you make directly from United. You will earn 2 miles for each $1 of net purchases made at Star Alliance airlines. You will earn 2 miles for each $1 of net purchases made at retail locations that such as as a home supply store, grocery store, gas station, or restaurants. You will earn 1 mile for each $1 of all other net purchases. Each year you will receive 5,000 bonus miles on your enrollment date anniversary. There is no maximum number of miles that you can accumulate in the program.

Bonus Miles and Discount Travel Certificate
The card allows members to earn up to 30,000, which is enough for a round-trip Saver Award ticket to anywhere in the continental United States. You can earn the 25,000 bonus miles and a $50 United discount travel certificate after your first purchase. Qualifying transactions include purchases, balance transfers, and any checks that are used to access your account, and exclude cash advances.
