Welcome Offer

Capital One Venture X Business has this welcome offer: 150,000 Miles once you spend $20,000 in the first 3 months, and an additional 150,000 miles once you spend $100,000 in the first 6 months.

Ink Business Premier℠ Credit Card offers this:  Earn $1,000 bonus cash back after you spend $10,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

Both of these are generous bonuses. But the spend to get the bonus for the Capital One card is significant. The Chase card has about two-thirds of the bonus, but you only need to spend half as much money. Also, the Chase card offers a more flexible bonus, since you can do anything you want with cash. If your plans don't include travel, the Capital One bonus is less valuable to you. We give the Ink Business Premier℠ Credit Card the win.

Cash Back Rewards

Capital One Venture X Business offers 2x on every purchase, 5x on flights, and 10x on rental cars and hotels booked through Capital One Travel. You also get a $300 travel credit for bookings through Capital One travel and 10,000 miles on your cardmember anniversary each year.

Ink Business Premier℠ Credit Card earns you 2.5% cash back on all purchases over $5,000, and 2% cash back on all other purchases. Plus 5% on travel booked through Chase Travel(SM).

These cards are pretty similar for most purchases. If you frequently put purchases of more than $5,000 on your credit card, the Ink card is a better fit. If you travel for business, then you'll get more rewards out of the Capital One card. It's a tie.

Here are the details for each card.

Rates and Fees

Both cards are pay-in-full cards, meaning you must pay your balance in full at the end of every month. Neither card is offering 0% intro APR at this time. The Capital One Venture X Business has an annual fee of $395, whereas the Ink Business Premier℠ Credit Card has an annual fee of $195. Neither one has foreign transaction fees. The Chase card saves you $200 on the annual fee over the Capital One card, so we'll give Chase the nod.

Who the Capital One Venture X Business is Best For

People who travel for business will get a lot of value from the Capital One Venture X Business. You get elevated rewards on flights, hotels, and rental cars, and you get that $300 travel credit as well. If you use that travel credit every year, it makes up a good chunk of the annual fee. The card gives you some travel benefits, too, such as TSA PreCheck or Global Entry credit, airport lounge access, and 10,000 anniversary miles. When you stay at hotels within the premier collection, you get a $100 credit. So far, there are only three Capital One lounges, but there are over 1200 Priority Pass lounges and you have access to those as well.

Who the Ink Business Premier℠ Credit Card is Best For

Business owners who want a simple cash back card will like the Ink Business Premier℠ Credit Card for its value and its simplicity. You get at least 2% on every single purchase, with no limits or caps. You get a few travel benefits as well, such as trip cancellation insurance, trip delay reimbursement, baggage delay insurance, and auto collision damage waiver. You also get cell phone protection, up to $1,000, when you use your card to pay the bill. It's a card you can rely on without having to think about it. And it has a much lower annual fee than the Capital One card.

Does it Make Sense to Get Both Cards?

Probably not. Since both cards are pay-in-full cards, the only reason to get both would be to have more credit (just because it's a pay-in-full card doesn't mean you can spend as much as you want). There is some overlap in what these cards offer, so one is probably a better fit than the other.

This is a bit tricky since both are pay-in-full cards, and credit limits are hard to find. Also, the Capital One Venture X Business is a newer card, having been launched in 2023. Given what we know about Capital One's approval process, we would guess you need excellent credit to be approved, and not too many recent inquiries.

Chase is a conservative lender, so you'll need excellent credit for that card as well. Business cards don't count in your personal credit report, but you still need to be under 5/24 (less than five approvals in the past two years) to be approved.
