Our Take

How Does the Blue Cash Everyday Compare?

Blue Cash Everyday compares favorably to other cash back rewards cards with a 0% introductory APR. You also get a bonus for signing up, so the rewards are decent, at least for the first $6,000 in grocery spending.

Who Is the Blue Cash Everyday Best For?

People who spend regularly on groceries and gas will find this card worthwhile, especially since there’s no annual fee. If you have a major purchase in mind or are looking to pay down debt, the 0% introductory APR for 15 months makes it a worthy addition to your wallet.

Who Would Do Better With a Different Card?

Those who have excellent credit would do well to upgrade to the Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express instead, as it offers 6% cash back on groceries (up to $6,000 a year), as well as 6% cash back on streaming services, 3% on gas and 1% on everything else.

People who don’t want to fuss with figuring out what categories offer what reward can consider the Citi® Double Cash Card - 18 month BT offer. You’ll earn up to 2% cash back on everything–1% when you make purchases and 1% when you pay for those purchases. If you pay your bill in full, that’s 2% cash back every month.

Those who travel frequently may consider the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. It has an excellent sign up bonus, plus great travel rewards, although you do have to pay a $95 annual fee.

What Credit Score Is Required to Get the Blue Cash Everyday

Based on data we’ve collected from public forums, a credit score of 690 or higher is ideal. We have seen an approval with a score as low as 658, but keep in mind that credit card issuers consider more than just your credit score when evaluating a credit card application.
