Editorial Review

Who is the Savor Card best for?

The Capital One Savor Rewards Credit Card will attract those who go out to eat multiple times a week and enjoy frequent trips to the movies. These are the two stand-out categories of the card. The reward rate on streaming and groceries, while solid, is not best for either category (see below). At the same time, the card is not ideal as the primary everyday card. Why?

While the 3% reward rate is excellent, it applies to a limited number of categories. Most people will charge more to other category purchases. In addition, For this reason, we see the Savor card as best as a secondary card for those who spend enough in its 4% categories to justify the annual fee.

Who would do better with a different card?

Those looking for a primary, everyday card would do better looking elsewhere. We like 2% cash back cards for those wanting a single card solution.

For those looking for a second card, there may be better options. For supermarket spending, there are other cards that pay as much as 6% cash back on groceries. And the same goes for streaming services. See our alternatives below.
